About Alex Maglione

Alex Maglione is a Texas-born, Grammy-nominated and Dove Award-winning engineer, mixer, and producer. Raised in Vermont by Phil and Judy Maglione, Alex was exposed to the behind the scenes workings of both radio and TV. Phil and Judy have a combined 60+ years in broadcast media. Throughout middle school, Alex played drums in the school band. At 15, Alex got his first job, board operator at Hall Communications Inc. (AM1230 WJOY) where he engineered various live New England sports feeds.

After graduating high school, he attended Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. When he wasn’t studying, Alex was known as DJ Magz. He DJ’d at various events and on FireMixRadio. He graduated in 3 years with a Bachelors Degree of Science in Recording Arts and was awarded Salutatorian of his class.

In 2014, he moved to Nashville with the hope of pursuing a career as a studio engineer. Just days after arriving in Nashville, he began his association with the Sound Kitchen Studios as an unpaid intern. After over a year of mentorship and interning, Alex was hired on as a Staff Engineer and shortly after took over the Chief Engineer roll which he held for over 4 years. The Sound Kitchen gave Alex the opportunity to work with many accomplished acts such as Shania Twain, Michael McDonald, Kelly Clarkson, Lonestar, Travis Tritt, Twenty One Pilots, Trace Adkins, ABC’s Nashville cast, Chris Young, Jake Owen, Mr. Talkbox, Easton Corbin, Mutemath, Chase Rice, The Gaither Vocal Band, Ryan Key (Yellowcard), SafetySuit, and Lee Greenwood.

Currently, Alex is freelancing. Mixing, engineering, and producing out of multiple Nashville area studios and also from home.
